Colorado Springs Holiday Events

Celebrate the season with Colorado Springs holiday events in the serene beauty of the Rockies.
Colorado Springs Holiday Events

The holidays are a special time of year when family and friends come together in the spirit of giving and togetherness. Something magical happens when people start thinking about riding through snow in horse-drawn sleighs or listening to live carols playing while sipping hot cocoa. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of town, there is something for you to enjoy in Colorado Springs during this festive season.

Kicking off the season is the annual Turkey Toss at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. Come witness a wolf, coyote and fox feeding on Thanksgiving morning followed by refreshments.

Those looking for more traditional holiday offerings will be delighted with the opening of The Nutcracker on November 27, running through November 29. This annual production by the Oklahoma City Ballet and the Colorado Springs Philharmonic features the Colorado Springs Children's Chorale and student dancers from the Pike's Peak region. The Philharmonic's Christmas Symphony is sure to get you into the spirit with some of your Christmas favorites, including parts of Handel's Messiah and Schubert's Ave Maria. More classic holiday entertainment comes courtesy of the USAF Academy Band and the various performances of Holly and Ivy, which are all free and open to the public.

The perfect prelude to a Colorado Springs Christmas is a Holiday Evening at Rock Ledge Ranch. This event with wagon rides, classic carols and lantern tours is sure to be a hit for young and old visitors alike.

Don't forget Cheyenne Mountain Resort for your lodging needs this holiday season whether you're coming into town or you want to treat your friends and family.
