Green Initiatives at Cheyenne Mountain Resort Support Our Commitment to Protecting the Environment

We take sustainability seriously and have been “going green” for years. Our green initiatives put environmental impact first and allows Cheyenne Mountain Resort to be responsible stewards in all that we do -- from purchasing, to utilizing eco-friendly products, to decisions regarding lighting, chemicals and more.

Current green initiatives at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort include waste minimization, reuse and recycling. The Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs is home to 1680 acres of green space and nature trails. This Colorado State Park is open year-round and features hiking, biking, camping, picnicking and geocaching among its many park activities.

Hiking
The Cheyenne Mountain State Park has 16 trails for hiking and biking totaling 20 miles of ground for you to explore. Ranging from easy to moderate with slightly varying elevations, hikers can observe the wildlife and forestry indigenous to the area while walking.

Geocaching

Taking place in downtown Colorado Springs, the Veterans Day Parade in Colorado Springs honors veterans and veteran organizations from throughout southern Colorado. The parade route runs south on Tejon Street from St. Vrain Street to Vermijo Avenue.

The 2012 Colorado Springs Veterans Day Parade is themed Iraq Veterans, Defenders of Freedom and will feature high school marching bands as well as Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops from throughout the region. High school floats reflective of the parade’s theme will also make there way down the parade route.
