Start the day off right with a delicious breakfast at the Mountain View Restaurant alongside some of our favorite furry friends from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. After you’ve eaten and met an opossum or lizard, head to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo to check out the rest of the animals and exhibits on display. Just a short drive from our resort, the zoo is home to a number of attractions including Encounter Africa and Rocky Mountain Wild.

Encounter Africa
Watch African lions, meerkats and black rhinoceros in this new exhibit that will feature an amphitheater, skybridge and African Tent. During your African encounter visit the zoo’s four resident elephants – Kimba, Lucky, Malaika and Jambo.

Rocky Mountain Wild

Get up close and personal with creatures native to the Rocky Mountains at this exhibit featuring moose,  otters, mountain lions, lynx, bears, porcupines, wolves and bald eagles.

Sunset Jazz Series at Cheyenne Continues with The Eastin & Sam Pannunzio Quartet in July

Join us for Sunset Jazz, a beautiful night of jazz melodies and breathtaking mountain views, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM in the Cheyenne Courtyard.  Enjoy jazz classics from decades past by The Brad Eastin & Sam Pannunzio Quartet featuring The Flores Brothers.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Fan Fest & Race Day
The second oldest race in the U.S. kicks off festivities during the free, pre-race festival on July 6. Festival goers can enjoy a chili cook-off, great food, entertainment and more. On July 8, the 90th Annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will take racers to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak!

July 11 – 14, 2012
Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo
Watch incredible showmen and stunt riders as they trot throughout downtown Colorado Springs at the kick off parade. After the parade, sit back and be amazed as hundreds of talented rides from throughout the county compete for over $200,000 in prize money at the 72nd Annual Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo.

July 20 – 22 & 27 – 29, 2012
Rocky Mountain State Games
Join in the 2012 Rocky Mountain State Games, a multi-sport festival featuring 35 sporting events ranging from field hockey to judo to a triathlon and more! Events take place at venues throughout Colorado Springs.
